Process Manager

For the manager to have the support of your team is critical to share a vision based on achieving collective success. However, respect isn’t a task that can be simply attributed as the obtaining and enforcement authority with the support of the entire team requires a careful execution.

Leadership requires a profile of humility and assertiveness able to take command when necessary and delegating authority whenever is possible. Manager should develop their own skills and exercise leadership founded on principles. If he does it, surely encourage the team loyalty, otherwise he will never gains their support. This is an ongoing practice that should lead the way in which the manager behaves and shape their relationships with others.

The manager operates under a circle of influence and rarely has a direct control over anyone in particular. As an executive can make demands, manager doesn’t have the same powers of command. Many cannot understand this aspect and exercise management assuming the role of unfailing leader, often, inspiring a strong resistance or inciting strained relationships.

Work Delegation

The understanding of when he should delegate authority is a critical aspect of leadership. The manager should know the team strengths and weaknesses.

This knowledge allows a correct assignment of tasks and decision making, improving overall efficiency. To delegate is important to understand exactly when and to whom this power can be trusted. Not all team elements are tailored to a management role and some are happier with a strict supervision of that than with a free choice.

It is crucial to keep the wrist in the team and manage the changing roles and skills. To know the team capacity, the manager must firstly assign small tasks. Should be asked to each team member to develop a plan for the task he was assigned and in the end he will receive the evaluation of their performance. Depending on the improvements is expected to be an increase in work load and/ or complexity.  The delegation will encourage the team members to work towards the main goals, putting their trust in the manager. The manager who does everything by itself will generate mistrust.

Maintain the moral

To be a great leader it is important to acknowledge and to follow its principles. Team members will respect for honoring his convictions. The manager must believe in others and their own actions, even if occur some errors, it must be recognized that these were made with the best intentions and for the common good.

Communicate differently

The communication will be always at the top of the list of essential qualities to an effective management. The development of the relationship with the team is critical, for it managers should work to expose their true personalities gaining the trust of all.

An effective communication isn’t achieved through short emails, a lot of demands, brief interactions. The relationships are developed slowly through the interaction and by an honest behavior.  Must be critical and listen the team ideas, sharing and valuing their contribution.

Do not neglect the personal development

The manager role isn’t static. It is an evolving career that requires constant learning and updating. If the team see the manager misinformed will be less likely to rely on his trial.

There are incredible resources to promote the skills of management. These features not only will make the manager’s job easier, but also will demonstrate enough competence. The health and well-being can also play an important role in work performance (work experience). Managers should not neglect the exercise, wealthy eating and rest. With only a slight change of lifestyle a manager can achieve huge gains in energy, achieving a better focus and a more positive view.

Leading by example

The manager cannot just talk, he must also have some proofs, otherwise he will lose all credibility. The most effective way to gain authority is to be a leader where the team has some review and wants to follow. Be on time. Be kind and attentive. Be efficient in your tasks, be fair and an example to follow.

It is difficult to navigate in the manager role, but with some simple habits you can improve the skills of persuasion and influence to achieve excellent results. A manager must always remain aware that the team is motivated by passion and only a leader has the ability to inspire.
