Mind Source focuses on proximity, valuing and developing talent to go further. Having received numerous awards for its human resources practices, it won the Social Award for Human Development in 2022.
Specializing in consulting and outsourcing projects, business processes, and technology, Mind Source has been among the select group of the best companies to work for in Portugal for several years. Rui Reis, CEO, explains to Jornal Económico how the focus on proximity, talent development, and appreciation are crucial to the company's success. Mind Source employs around 200 people, mainly in Lisbon and Porto.
What benefit is most popular at Mind Source?
The benefit we feel is most valued today is flexible hours and remote work. We feel this is one of the most valued benefits, both as a side effect of the pandemic and due to the increased participation of Generation Z in the job market, a generation with different expectations regarding the role work plays in their lives: it's a generation that demands more work-life balance than any other.
In this context of rising cost of living, do extra-salary benefits reinforce their role as a tool for attracting and retaining talent in the company?
It's a fact that the cost of living has been increasing for families. We try to do everything in our power to mitigate this impact on the lives of our employees and their families. Expenses that weigh heavily on household budgets are mortgage payments and fuel, and in this regard, we have established partnerships with banks and major gas stations to help reduce expenses in these areas through exclusive employee discounts. We also offer benefits that many companies provide, such as meal vouchers, childcare vouchers, a completely free health plan for employees, and a 50% contribution towards home care.
Does a technology company also prioritize technology?
We know how important it is to have access to the latest technology on the market and to always be connected, so we offer all our employees, regardless of their role, a mobile phone of their choice, which can be renewed every two years, as well as free mobile data and calls. All new employees also receive a laptop and a €100 allowance to equip their home office to accommodate remote work.
Any other strengths?
Another key benefit that characterizes us is our support for training.
What do they offer in this area?
In addition to a training plan tailored to each talent and providing unlimited training, we also offer discounts at specialized training centers (Rumos, Flag, and Galileu) for employees and their families. This investment in the skills development of our talent earned us the Social Human Development Award in 2022, awarded by the Great Place to Work Institute® in Portugal.
