In an interview published in the Q&A section of Bons Negócios, Rui Reis emphasizes that a good work environment is based on three fundamental pillars: respect, communication, and recognition.

What do you consider most important to ensure a good work environment?

Respect, Communication, and Recognition.

Respect for difference – different experiences, points of view, and ways of working. We are confronted with difference daily, and what distinguishes a good from a bad work environment is whether we value difference or marginalize it.

Effective and transparent communication to ensure an atmosphere of trust and alignment between teams.

And last but not least, Recognition. Nothing is more motivating than feeling valued. Every success should be celebrated, and good work should always be recognized. If we want to foster a culture of positive feedback, we also have to know how to give it. A good work environment is cultivated and must begin with example.
